Biography
Jennifer Kowalkowski a Postdoctoral Scholar with the Rural Health Disparities Lab at Penn State University. She is a Registered Nurse who uses mixed methods, including social network analysis, to study structural factors that influence health and well-being across the lifespan and socioecological levels. Her program of research has evolved to focus specifically on examining structural factors within local contexts that influence healthcare access and contribute to systemic disparities in mental well-being among rural working-aged adults over their life course. She has recently begun exploring the concepts of stigma and recovery capital within the context of mental health with substance use to explore access-related factors that impact well-being among rural working-aged adults.
