Please welcome Public Relations Specialist Melissa Krug to SSRI. Melissa is responsible for the communications efforts of the Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse (CCSA) and is coordinating the Evidence to Impact Collaborative (EIC) podcast series.
Melissa previously worked as a poverty analyst at the Fiscal Policy Institute in Albany, New York before moving to Pennsylvania. She has held other positions at the New York State Division of the Budget and at Unity House of Troy, a local human services nonprofit.
She earned a Master of Public Administration from SUNY Albany in May 2017 and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and International Trade from SUNY Oswego in May 2013. She is currently enrolled at Penn State in a post-baccalaureate certificate program in fundraising leadership.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys watching movies, playing games, and entertaining with friends. Melissa lives in State College with her husband, Andrew Vitek, an assistant teaching professor of political science at Penn State.
