Sarah Brothers, assistant professor of sociology and public policy and SSRI co-funded faculty member through the Consortium on Substance Use and Addiction, was recently awarded the Sociological Practice and Public Sociology (SPPS) Outstanding Publication Award for The Methadone Manifesto: Treatment Experiences and Policy Recommendations From Methadone Patient Activists.
Brothers will present their work with their co-author and community collaborator, Caty Simon, during an American Sociological Association (ASA) Section Sociological Practice and Public Sociology (SPPS) webinar titled “Virtual Community Driven Research with People Who Use Drugs: Methadone Treatment Issues During COVID-19" on Thursday, April 20th from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.
